Holly Beals

Holly Beals paints the people and places of everyday life on California's Central Coast — sun-washed shorelines, towering palms and quiet moments rendered in rich texture and saturated color. Her path to the canvas began in design. After earning a BA in Communications with an emphasis in Graphic Design from California State University, Chico, in 2005, she spent six years as a graphic designer. It was while teaching conversational English to college students in Tibet that she first began working in mixed media, building images from scrap paper, acrylic paint and magazine clippings. That resourceful, layered approach became her signature. Today Holly paints full-time from her studio on the Central Coast, where she lives with her husband and two sons, and her first book is in the works. She is an artist with Studios on the Park in Paso Robles and is represented by KK Gallery LA. Faith sits at the heart of everything she creates.
